HoG Party: Spontaneous Smash

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

A year ago, Christopher and I had just barely been living with eachother for a month. Hall of the Gods(H?G) was nothing more than a Counter Strike:Source server, but on a whim we threw a H?G party! Amazingly, fifteen or more of the H?G server regulars showed up in person, without anymore notice than a few hours!

Recently, Christopher and I had wondered if we’d end up having another H?G Party in March of 2006. Some things are just meant to happen. This past Saturday evening, the 25th of March, six H?G-illians showed up at our apartment: Jeremy, Ryan, Jeff, Ray, Autumn, & Jesse.

Eight in all, we set up a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. Massive fun! As you can see in the photographs below, we’ve got an ideal arrangement for an at-home-tournament. A T.V. for both rooms, and a Wavebird to accomodate someone in any part of our cozy home. :)

(We have yet to do so, but the option of a TV in the bathroom has been considered. Although, sanitary issues… )

The last couple of people left at 4-5 a.m., after some Donkey Conga and DDR: Mario Mix. I was incredibly tired, but fulfilled on the feelings of fun!

  • Bark BodiceColissa and I were walking within our apartment complex the other evening, and passed by a large piece of palm tree bark on the ground. We both stopped and looked at eachother, “Doesn’t that look like a…”. A perfect bodice, made by nature, 100% bark!
    • I plan to cut out the chunk of bark on the left, to fully expose the midriff and give the center a diamond outline. I’m not sure how exactly I’m going to piece it all together, but Ised.com/im plan to dress for Halloween with this bark bodice! I was planning on dressing as a Warcraft Night Elf, which this could work for, but technically NE’s dress in leather. So I figure I’ll be my own elfling character, and have Christopher’s Mom paint me. She’s done so before, for a woman locally who was going as Ivy for Halloween.
  • Yoshi TileOver nine months ago, I saw this tile that Christopher had made when he was a boy. Before we moved into our current residence, I said that I’d hang that tile on the wall of our bathroom. I finally did so a few weeks back, after rummaging through some boxes to find it. It’s just absolutely awesome to me, in all it’s Yoshi-ness! So it made me more than giddy to hang it up finally. I still walk into the bathroom from time-to-time, just to stand back and admire it. I’m so simply pleased. :)
  • I have been updating and adding to the personal information to the right. I’m working on the structure of that column off and on, so it will probably continually change.
  • Journal/BookAfter many years of not writing in my own journal, I’ve just recently purchased one to start anew. I’m not writing as often as I once did, every night, but writing what I need to work through it all. I plan to post some of my journal entries in the recent future. I would now, except many of my entries are incomplete.
    • Colissa and I have both been on a self-improvement binge as of late. When Tommy recommended I read Pivot, Colissa was kind enough to buy it for me along with her, The One Decision. It’s well written, and speaks of a theory I’ve come to own, but have yet to fully live up to.

    I’m “Performancing” Well? :P

Christopher found and installed Performancing yesterday evening, and I followed.

It’s a very convenient plug-in for most Blogging clients, that allows you to post no matter where you are on the net. The catch is, you have to be using Firefox.

This is proving to be quite convenient for me, though. It will help me to achieve my goal of documenting any thought or memory I find intriguing. I can pull up a window and begin writing a post with one click, no fuss or losing my train of thought.

    So, I suppose I’m saying…
